How do I send my first message?Updated 3 days ago
Sending your first message
Here's how to send your first message to your Memoryboard:
- Click the purple plus (+) icon on the bottom center of the Activity screen; this will take you to the Create a Post screen.
- Choose between sending a message or an image.
- On the next screen, you'll see a preview of the post and be asked to select which board you would like to post the message to. Click the box next to the name of the board to choose the correct board.
- On the final screen, you'll be able to schedule a message.
- If you want to post a message immediately, skip the scheduling steps and click "Post to Board".
- If you want to schedule a message, select a start date, an end date, the duration (time of the message), and a repetition. If you want the message to appear for multiple days, you'll need to select the days of the week, along with the Start Date and End Date.
The post will appear on the Memoryboard within a few seconds. A 'ring' sound will play from the Memoryboard, indicating there is a new message.
💡Posts expire at the end of the day, so be sure to send messages and photos each day to stay connected to the person with memory loss.
Other Tips
- When sending a message, you can toggle between black text on a white background or white text on a black background.
- When sending an image, you can crop the image to focus on only the most essential part of the image and tag the photo to add additional context
- On the Scheduling screen, you'll see a preview and confirmation of the message and what board will receive the post.
- You can control how long a post remains on the screen before switching to the next post. In the app, click on Settings, Boards, and the purple pencil icon to be taken to the board settings screen. Here, you can adjust the 'time between posts' field.
