How does sleep mode work?Updated a month ago

Sleep mode on Memoryboard

Memoryboard has a 'sleep mode' that puts it to sleep in the evening and wakes it up in the morning. This allows Memoryboard to turn off and on automatically, so it doesn't disturb your loved one at night, without them needing to manage the device themselves.

The default when you first set up Memoryboard is for sleep mode to be on from 7 pm to 7 am. You can adjust sleep mode on the Settings screen on the Memoryboard. Swipe down on the date/time on the Memoryboard and click to gear icon on the left to access the Settings screen.

Here, you will see a section called 'Sleep mode'. When it is on, the toggle will appear purple. When it is off, the toggle will appear gray. When on, you will see a drop-down to set your start time and end time. Start time refers to the time sleep mode begins (typically in the evening). End time refers to the time sleep mode ends (typically in the morning).

A few other things to keep in mind with sleep mode:

  • Sleep mode occurs automatically each day, so your loved one does not need to take any action themselves
  • If you tap the screen while Memoryboard is in sleep mode, the screen will turn back on; it will remain on and won't go back into sleep mode until the following day (next time it hits the 'start time')
    • If you set the start time to a time that is earlier in the day, it won't automatically go into sleep mode (it will wait for the following day to enter sleep mode)
  • Today, sleep mode can only be controlled on the Memoryboard and not in the app, but we have plans to move this functionality into the app in the future
